As the global community continues to grapple with coronavirus and its far reaching implications, I am writing to assure you that the safety of our customers, our team and our community is, and always have been, a top priority.
Governments around the world are implementing measures to contain this public health crisis, however our business is considered vital as we are a part of global food chain. We are following the advice of all governments and public health authorities, and proactively implementing a range of precautionary measure, from stringent sanitation and cleaning protocols, to staff health checks.
Our Employees are reminded to take on board the latest health guidelines regarding handwashing and all other pertinent protocols. Our measures are aligned with World Health Organization guidelines and local health officials, and we continue to adjust our approach as necessary.

What you are doing additional to protect against Covid-19 (Coronavirus)?
Since the present situation is currently in a state of flux, we are continuously in liaise with Food Control and Public Health Department of Dubai Municipality for any specific advice on food safety management and infection prevention and control measures as it develops to take account of new evidence.
In addition to a Food Safety Management System (FSMS) that includes existing food hygiene guidance and HACCP processes that should be followed, We at Chef Select stress the importance of more frequent handwashing and maintaining good hygiene practices in our food preparation and handling areas. Employees should wash their hands for 20 seconds, especially after being in a public place, blowing their nose, coughing or sneezing.
Frequently clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are touched regularly, using cleaning products approved by the public health department for the purpose.
Our internal procedures on good hygiene practices in food preparation and HACCP processes guidance is intended to ensure staff follow good hygiene practices to prevent the spread of disease to food. Key safety points include being fit for work, washing hands and wearing aprons or other clean clothing as appropriate.

Can COVID-19(Coronavirus) be transmitted through food and packaging?
As the science around coronavirus continues to unfold, but there is currently no evidence that the disease is transmitted by food.
That’s because it’s a respiratory virus, passed primarily from person to person in droplets when someone who is infected coughs or sneezes. Though it’s possible to pick up the virus by touching a surface where the droplets have landed and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, but this is very unlikely and not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Can I have a contactless delivery?
Yes, at Chef Select, the safety of our colleagues and our customer are of utmost important, for this reason, our delivery personnel will no longer ask customers to sign any receiving receipt.
Our delivery personnel will place the customer’s parcel on the doorstep, ring or knock on the customer’s door and then retreat 2 meters from the door. When the door is open, they will be explained on their order delivery and asked for payment option. We will make sure every step is distanced when making payment option (both cash and card transaction) available for our customer; this is usually done by stepping back and forth by both customer and the delivery personnel.
What precautions are your delivery personnel taking?
Our delivery personnel have been directed to follow strict hygiene protocols which include frequent handwashing when at dispensing station, sanitizing hands before wearing gloves each time and wearing a fresh pair of gloves for each delivery, wearing face masks, and regularly disinfecting steering wheels and areas of the delivery van which are often touched. We have equipped our delivery van with handheld sanitizer bottles, gloves. Drivers have also been advised to stay home if they are feeling sick or exhibit any symptoms of acute respiratory illness.

Will COVID-19 impact your food supply?
There are no nationwide shortages of food, although in some cases the inventory of certain foods at your grocery store might be temporarily low before stores can restock. This is not the case for us, thankfully; however, some items may not be as readily available as they were before COVID-19situation. As a result, we may need to slightly adjust the ingredients of a few recipes. Where this is necessary, we will provide appropriate substitutions, so that you can continue to enjoy the quality cooking experience from us.
Will there be service interruptions and/or shipping delays?
During this extraordinary time, when most people are moving to work remotely, we are seeing an unprecedented increase in demand. To help manage the sudden leap and to ensure all customers receive their orders, we may need to temporarily adjust your delivery day or you may expect a late delivery. Please rest assured that if an adjusted delivery day becomes necessary, we will always communicate this to you in advance.
In case of deliveries expected to be delayed this will as well be communicated to ensure you receive the orders within the day at your available time.
Will my ingredients and produce be okay if there are minor delivery delays?
All ingredients you receive from us are kept in cold environments and dispatched in cold transport vehicle. We do this to ensure ingredients stay fresh and cool from the harvest until they reach your door.
